8 Takeaways From Harvard’s Task Force Reports

HOLY CROSS

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Harvard's football season opens with a crash. Quite different from the traditional easy workout with Colby will be the initial game with Holy Cross this afternoon. The selection of this much more formidable opponent for the opening contest marks a change in the policy of Harvard football administration. The abandonment of the old "easy schedule" will be welcomed by all followers of the Crimson eleven, not only because it will bring many more interesting contests to Soldiers Field, but also because it will test the team more severely, better equip it to meet Yale, and will give it a fairer claim to the Eastern title, if successful.

Holy Cross comes to Cambridge more optimistic of victory than any team which has opened its season here. It has been training vigorously for several weeks, and its coaches and players are determined to upset the Crimson machine.

Today's game gives Harvard a week's lead on Princeton and Yale; the fact that it is to be a stiff game gives Harvard a still better opportunity to "steal a march" on its chief rivals.
