At a meeting of the National Academy of Sciences held at Washington recently, three Harvard professors were elected members for their distinguished work. They were: Dr. William Duane, A.B. '93, A.M. '95, Ph.D. '97, Research Fellow in Physics at the Medical School, and member of the Cancer Commission of the University; Dr. George Washington Pierce, A.M. '99, Ph.D. '00, Professor of Physics, and Director of the Cruft Memorial Laboratory; and Dr. Elmer Peter Kohler, Ph.D., LL.D., Abbott and James Lawrence Professor of Chemistry at the University.
