MAY HELP IN FOREIGN RECONSTRUCTION WORK

COST $600 PER MAN

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Arrangements have been completed with the French Government whereby a limited number of students in the University are to go abroad next summer to help with the reconstruction work in the Champagne-Argonne region. The French Ministry of Reconstruction has furthermore agreed to supply the men with their food and board during the period of their work.

An advisory committee consisting of Henry D. Sleeper '87, former head of the American Field Service in France; Professor William Emerson '95, of the Architectural School of Technology, and former head of the Bureau of Reconstruction of the American Red Cross; William Roscoe Thayer '81, and the Faculty of the Harvard Architectural School and Harvard School of Landscape Architecture are helping to form the group. Mr. Sleeper and Professor Emerson are going to France themselves next summer, and will, whenever necessary, render are assistance that their time permits.

The group is composed principally of Harvard men, but has no official connection with the University. It is expected that the group will be able to render some valuable aid and that incidentally it may help to promote a greater friendship between France and America.

Sail Late in June.

The men will sail the latter part of June to remain abroad for a minimum period of three months. The approximate cost will be $600 for each man. There is still a chance for a few men to go who speak French and who would like to help with the work. Anyone interested in the plan should see Mr. C. Lee of the Landscape School of Architecture, of R. L. Buell, Occ., in Robinson Hall between 9 and 12 in morning and 2 and 5 in the afternoon before May 10.
