SECOND CREW RACES IN HENLEY REGATTA

Today the second University crew will row in the Stewards' Cup race in the American Henley on the Schuylill River. The men left yesterday afternoon for Philadelphia and will row in the first boat this morning. Provided they quality, they will row again in the afternoon in the final race. Two of the four crews which rowed in the Child's Cup race yesterday will be entered also in the finals.

Yesterday afternoon four races of the annual spring regatta were held over the mile course in the basin, all of the contests were very close, one of the races resulting in a tie for three out of five crews entered in the race.

Boston Latin Wins Four-Oar

The first race of the afternoon, rowed over the mile course from Cottage Farm Bridge to the Harvard Bridge, was that between the second school fours, in which four crews were entered. The Brookline High School and Browne and Nichols fours jumped ahead at the start; then Brookline drew ahead of the Browne and Nichols crew until she had three lengths of open water at the half-mile. Boston Latin High School drew up on Browne and Nichols, rowing practically even for the rest of the race, but Boston Latin crossed the finish line before Browne and Nichols, about four lengths behind Brookline High.

The third event of the afternoon's schedule was the race between the first school fours, the preliminaries for which were held on Thursday. Five crews were entered and three of them tied at the finish line: Browne and Nichols, Noble and Greenough and Cambridge Latin. The tie will be settled at an early date, although the definite day has not yet been set.

Seventh '23 Crew Leads

The seventh 1923 crew was the victor in the fourth contest, winning over the Boston Interscholastic crew by a lead of about half a length.

Three events are scheduled for this afternoon, the races between the schoolboy eights and fourth 1923 crews, and the wherry race postponed from today. The schedule follows:
