The 1920 class crew went down to defeat in the race with Yale's championship Junior class crew rowed over the mile and five-sixteenths course in the harbor at New Haven Saturday. The Eli eight led at the finish of a close race by a length, crossing the line in 7 minutes, 11 4-5 seconds after the start.

The race was a close one all the way through, and at no time did open water show between the two shells. The Yale boat held the lead up to a half-mile from the finish, when the 1920 eight put up the stroke for a short spurt that put them even with the Blue shell. However, the Elis put up their stroke shortly after and regained and increased their lead to a length, which they held until the end.

The line-ups of the crews are as follows:

Yale 1921--Bow, McCall; 2, P. Robertson; 3, Trippe; 4, Taggart; 5, Rockefeller; 6, Ewing; 7, Benson; stroke, Boocock; coxswain, T. Robertson.

University 1920--Bow, N. Walker; 2, Pavenstedt; 3, Norrie; 4, Dickerson; 5, W. W. Caswell; 6, G. Brown; 7, B. Wheeler; stroke, R. Saltonstall; coxswain, Mellen.
