Success crowned the efforts of the University Faculty and the New England Federation of Harvard Clubs in the first Graduates' Day assemblage, which was held here Saturday. All parts of New England were represented in the delegation of over 150 men who attended the meeting in spite of the stormy weather.
F. C. Weld '86, president of the New England Federation, opened the meeting in the Faculty Room in University Hall, and was followed by President Lowell, who gave the address of welcome to the graduates. The new admission requirements were then explained by Professor Grandgent '83. Dean E. R. Gay '17 spoke on the Freshman Dormitories and explained the new system of treating Freshmen. The next two speakers on the program were Dr. R. I. Lee of the Hygiene Department and Dean C. N. Greenough '98, whose respective subjects were "Student Health" and "The Student and the College Office." The morning session was brought to a close by F. K. Bullard '20, who told of the activities of the University from the undergraduate's point of view. The speakers at the afternoon session were Professors Moore and Ferguson and Mr. Luce; the meeting was concluded with selections by the Glee Club, which were enthusiastically re-received.
