At a meeting of the Athletic Committee on Thursday afternoon the re-appointment of Robert T. Fisher '12, as head coach of the football team, was confirmed. Coach Fisher, under whose direction last fall an unbeaten team was turned out, will begin activities for the 1920 season on April 28, when spring football practice starts.
In the practice this spring, Coach Fisher will be assisted by Dr. Paul Withington '09, and Derric C. Parmenter '13, now connected with the Department of Physical Education, who will coach the centers again. With these men for a nucleus, Coach Fisher intends to build up a coaching staff that will give the team a valuable six-weeks' training. When asked as to the re-appointment of other assistant coaches, Fred W. Moore '93, Graduate Treasurer of the Athletic Association, expressed the belief that practically the same mentors would return next fall, but stated that nothing had been definitely settled.
Coach Fisher prepared for Harvard at Phillips Andover Academy where he played tackle for three years. In his Freshman year at the University he played guard and during the last three years of his College course was first-string right guard on the University eleven. He was selected as an all-American guard by Walter Camp in 1910 and in 1911 was elected captain of the University team.
