TENNIS TEAM STARTS ITS SOUTHERN JOURNEY TODAY

The University tennis team will start on its extensive Southern trip this morning at 10.50 when their train pulls out of the South Station for Providence, where the first match of the season is scheduled with the Agawam Hunt Club of that city, in the afternoon. If the weather is inclement, the match will be played on the Club's indoor court. Through the kindness of this club, and of the others who are to play against the University, the team will be lodged each night after the games at the different club-houses, and the travelling will take place in the mornings. All the matches are scheduled for the afternoon.

Leaving Providence, the players will entrain for Richmond to meet there the Richmond Country Club on Monday, April 19. The next day, at Norfolk, the team will battle with the Norfolk Country Club. At Annapolis on Wednesday the midshipmen will oppose the players in a match which promises to be close and hard-fought. After the Naval Academy games, the team will make its head-quarters for the night at Carvel Hall in Annapolis. A contest with the ChevyChase Country Club, outside Washington, is scheduled for Thursday afternoon. Travelling the next day to Baltimore, the team will take on the Baltimore Country Club aggregation on Friday. The Quaker City will be the scene of the final match of the trip, when on Saturday, April 24, the University will meet the Philadelphia Country Club.

The team which will play in the singles will be: Captain G. W. Helm '20, L. A. deTurenne '21, C. H. Hyams '21, D. P. Robinson '20, J. B. Fenno, Jr. '21, J. R. Morss '21, Assistant Manager Paul Jackson '21 will accompany the team and direct the trip. The doubles combinations, upon which special emphasis has been placed in the indoor practices of the past few weeks, are: Helm and deTurenne, Hyams and Fenno, Robinson and Morss. Six singles matches will be played with each of the opposing teams, and three doubles battles.
