All members of the Shannon Post of the American Legion will attend the Memorial Day exercises on May 31 in a body, it was decided at a meeting of the new Post Tuesday night in the Union. This decision was reached when it was learned that this year the Memorial Exercises will be especially dedicated to the men who lost their lives in the war.
The Shannon Post now has a paid-up membership of 150 and expects to increase this number considerably before May 31. It was also voted to hold the elections for next year's officers at a meeting to be held May 12.
Applications for membership and dues will be received at 17 University Hall, it was announced. A man will be stationed in the Military Office in University Hall every Wednesday afternoon from 4 to 5 o'clock, to look after the business of the Shannon Post, and any man may apply there at that time for information. Membership cards will be given out immediately, and buttons may be had upon application to the Adjutant of the Post.
