During the winter the policy of the Union of inviting men known as leaders in public affairs to lecture here has met with uninterrupted success. In securing Major-General Leonard Wood to address the University this afternoon it has crowned a season already replete with achievement.

As a soldier and a statesman General Wood has long been a prominent figure. His leadership of the Plattsburg movement before the United States entered the war won him signal notice. But aside from his past record, the fact that he is one of the leading candidates for the presidential nomination makes his visit today of the greatest interest to Harvard men.
