An Intercollegiate Trapshooting Association has just been formed, of which the University, Yale, Dartmouth and Princeton are the charter members. The purpose of this Association is the "encouragement of trapshooting in colleges and universities, and the creation of competition among the members." This year the provisional President will be appointed by Yale, the Vice-president by Princeton, the Secretary by Dartmouth, and the Treasurer by Harvard. A graduate secretary will also be chosen, who will be an alumnus of one of the member colleges.
The University Gun Club is planning extensive activities this year, including a Beginners Shoot, and numerous handicap shoots, club shoots, etc. Several trophies have already been offered. There will also be an excursion and shoot with the New England Kennel Club team, which is largely composed of Harvard graduates, captained by Edward Wigglesworth, '08. The B. A. A., the Montclair Gun Club of Wollaston, and the Everett Gun Club have all extended to the University Club the courtesy of their grounds.
Season Opens Next Week
The schedule of the Gun Club will include shoots with Yale on May 1st and May 8th, and the Intercollegiate Shoot at New Haven on Saturday, May 22nd. The spring season of the club will open next week when shooting practice will begin. All men who are interested in trap shooting will have an opportunity to compete for the club team.
