In a fast and well-played game, John D. Farnham '23 defeated M. McCartney1L. in the finals of the billiard tournament at the Union with a score of 100-58, thereby clinching the championship of the Union. Each of the men in the semifinals had won their first two rounds, Farnham with scores of 60-26, 60-35, and McCartney with 50-40 and 60-42. In the game yesterday both men were close on one-cushion shots, and on masse plays did work which would have done credit to professionals.
The pool tournament, which has been going on for two weeks, will be terminated next. In this, C. S. Read '20 and A. W. Frieder Unc. are leading.
