YALE YEARLING OUINTET OVERWHELMS CRIMSON '23

In the first basketball game between Harvard and Yale for more than 10 years the Yale freshmen on Saturday proved their superiority by the overwhelming score of 63-14. Their greater experience and the fact that basketball, as a major sport at Yale, creates more competition for the team, showed clearly in the relative playing of the two teams. The Harvard team fought hard, but their best efforts were unavailing, and after the first five minutes it was clearly a case only of how low they could keep the score.

In the first half the Freshmen started with a rush and scored two goals from the floor before Yale realized the game was on. Under the leadership of Baither, who scored 33 of his team's points, the game soon assumed the proportions of a runaway. J. Pallo and A. E. McLeish played well for Harvard.

E. J. Martin 1G., who scored four baskets, was the most spectacular player on the floor. J. K. Hollinger 1G.B., the Freshman coach, was the highest scorer with seven baskets from the foul line and one from the floor.
