Plans for the intercollegiate air race to be held on May 7 and 8 will be finally formulated at the meeting of the Intercollegiate Flying Association to be concluded in New York this morning at the headquarters of the American Flying Club. Restrictions as to the type and source of the planes flown, the qualification of pilots, entry fees, and the rules to be enforced to insure safety in the race will be settled.

Colonel H. E. Hartley, American Ace and chief of the Air Service of the Army, will represent his department at the meeting and the part which the military authorities are to take in conducting and supporting the race will be agreed upon. Lieutenant-Colonel Drennan, in charge of the air service of the Department of the Northeast, who has been an active supporter of the University Aeronautical Society, will also be present at the meeting.

L. E. Thomas '20, president of the Intercollegiate Flying Association, will preside. Representatives form Columbia, Yale, Princeton, Williams, and Cornell will attend as well as from Rutgers and the University of Pittsburgh, two institutions which have recently applied for membership in the Association.

At the last meeting of the University Aeronautical Society a resolution was passed effecting an affiliation between the University Society and the American Flying Club, the organization which was the principle backer of the New York-Toronto and the Transcontinental race. This affiliation gives to the members of the University Society all the privileges of the Flying Club and assures them of both their moral and financial support. Mr. Lawrence L. Driggs, president of the Flying Club, will be present at the meeting.
