TECH SWAMPED 8 TO 0 IN ROUGH ICE BATTLE

M. I. T. fell an easy victim to the University hockey team in its sixth successive victory at the Pavilion last night when the Crimson players piled up a score of eight goals to Technology's none. In the other game of the evening between the two All-Star sextets, an extra period had to be played before Team A could make the goal that gave them a 4-3 victory.

The University game was fast and rough, but the high score does not indicate the fight that Technology put up. At no time was the University free from the danger of attack, and a large share of the credit should go to J. Holmes '21, who played an excellent game in goal for the University.

Technology was out to win from start to finish and there were a number of penalties, the majority of which were a for tripping. Caldwell in the M. I. T. defense line, gave a good illustration of their fighting spirit when, he twice threw his shoulder out of joint in the first period and after a short rest returned to finish the game.

E. L. Bigelow '21 was again the mainstay of the Crimson team and was responsible for no less than five of the University's eight tallies. Bigelow has been improving steadily throughout the season and by now he can be counted on to score whenever the opportunity arises. J. Stubbs '20 and N. S. Walker, Jr., '20 also showed up well in the Crimson defense last night and after the regular forward line had left the ice in the second period they took the brunt of the work.

Bigelow opened the scoring for the University with two tallies in a row about three minutes after the start of the game. R. W. Emmons, 3b, '20 made the only other score of the period on a pretty shot from the boards just before the final gong rang. Bigelow and Emmons started the scoring for the last half with a goal apiece on a bit of forward line team-play and soon afterwards Bigelow tucked away two more. Stubbs made the final score for the Crimson on an individual dash up the rink.
