Swimmers Report for First Practice

Swimming practice for both the University and Freshman squad began yesterday afternoon at the Y. M. C. A. tank, Huntington avenue, Boston. Twenty-nine candidates for the University team and twenty-three for the Freshman team reported. Trials were held to ascertain what men were the most promising candidates but no cut will be made until the end of the week.

The prospects for the University team are better than last year because several men who were on probation than are eligible this winter. Of these, P. Johnson '21 is the best.

For the yearlings, the outlook is excellent, as there is an abundance of good material. D. S. Holder '23 is the most promising all-around man; C. T. Heldman '23 is the fastest in the dashes.
