Man Who Managed Clients for High-End Cambridge Brothel Network Pleads Guilty
Professor G. W. Pierce '99, Director of the Cruft Memorial Laboratory, will be the speaker at the informal opening of the new club room of the James A. Shannon Post, American Legion, on Wednesday, December 1, at 8 P. M. He plans to discuss "Submarine Detection" and will show different pictures on the subject to illustrate his talk. An informal discussion will follow. Professor J. L. Coolidge '95 will preside. This opening meeting is only for members of the Post.
The room which is no the third floor of the Varsity Club will serve as permanent headquarters and club room for the Shannon Post. The walls have been decorated with a collection of war posters, the gift of Mrs. Fiske Warren. Current numbers of service periodicals will be kept on file.
The Legion Post plans to hold a series of informal smoke talks for members only throughout the year. An expert on some special military phase of the war will speak at each of these meetings.
It is the chief aim of the Shannon Post to enter as many University men as possible in the Americanization work that is now being conducted by the Legion. The national director of this work is Arthur Woods '92, a member of the Board of Overseers. The work consists of a campaign to educate the unnaturalized residents who ought to become citizens. Any student can help greatly by speaking at meetings and by explaining to these foreigners what American citizenship is. Members of the University may enlist in this important service by sending their name to the adjutant of the James A. Shannon Post. University Hall. Cambridge.
