A scoreless tie yas the result of a fiercely fought, overtime soccer game between the Crimson and Blue elevens on the Old Yale Field at New Haven Saturday. For two regulation 40-minute periods and two extra 5-minute sessions, the ball seesawed back and forth from one end of the field to the other. Although both goals were threatened time and again, the teams, which had both been defeated by Princeton by a margin of four points, were so evenly matched that neither could break through the final defense for a tally.

Each eleven played as a team, not as individuals, passing with accuracy and feeding the ball to the outside forwards skillfully. The defense men were always in position, breaking up attacks by the opposing forwards that threatened to culminate in a score, and repeatedly booting the pigskin into the opponents' territory. Showing remarkable endurance, the forwards dashed up and down the field for an hour and a half of actual playing, dribbling or driving the ball ahead of them and passing it cleverly Carpenter, Heizer and Weaver for the University, and Captain Coburn and Brockman for Yale, put up their best exhibitions of the season.

Frequently it was necessary to call time out for injuries. Men on both teams were severely bruised and shaken up in the scrimmages. However, all the University players stayed in the game, including Allen, the left fullback, who received a blow on the head that caused a severe hemorrhage.
