THE UNIVERSITY BAND

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

All Harvard students have taken great pride in the band at the recent games, both for its excellent appearance and for its spirited playing. Few colleges can boast of a band of their own, and none can boast of a better one.

While most other colleges must pay twelve or fifteen hundred dollars for a professional band for the big game series, we are fortunate in having to pay only for the expenses of the Yale Trip. At the mass meeting before the Princeton game less than twenty percent of the sum needed to send the band to New Haven was collected. At least four hundred and fifty dollars must be forthcoming to night at the mass meeting. Each student must contribute three times as much as he did at the previous meeting.
