Members of the Freshman, Sophomore and Junior classes will be given a last chance at 7 o'clock tonight to compete for election to the business department of the University Register. This competition, which will be a brief one, is open to Juniors as well as Freshmen and Sophomores because of resignation of one of the editors. This arrangement, however, will not place Freshmen and Sophomores at a disadvantage, but will start all men on the same basis. The meeting will be held in the Register office in the Union.
This competition is to fill the positions of business manager and assistant business manager for the 1921-22 book. The work will consist of soliciting subscriptions and advertisements, and a small amount of office work. The competition will end some time during the second week of December, thereby offering the attraction of brevity. The most successful candidate will be made business manager for next year, and the next highest aspirant will become assistant business manager. The assistant automatically succeeds to the position of business manager. This competition is a means to attractive rewards, since the business manager receives substantial remuneration for his work.
Editorial Competition Opens
The Register also opens its annual short editorial competition this evening at 7 o'clock in the Register Office in the Union. The competition will last until the Christmas recess, about six weeks, and is open to Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors. There is an unusual opportunity to make the Register this year as the Board, which was greatly depleted during the war, has not been brought up to its normal size, and all men who show their worth will be elected.
