To the Editors of the CRMSON:
For many of us the resignation of Miss Monk as Secretary to the Chairman of the Committee on the Choice of Electives comes as a severe blow to our cherished hopes of satisfying, through the guidance of a superior and kindly wisdom, the mysterious requirements of the Committee. When in our Sophomore year we were struggling with the intricacies of concentration and distribution, it was Miss Monk who smoothed away the difficulties which lay before us. And in subsequent years when we were hesitating between the selection of this or that course, it was again Miss Monk who came to the rescue. Unhesitatingly we followed her advice and invariably we were glad that we had done so. A secretary so capable and so thoroughly interested in her work was certainly an asset to the College in general and to the Committee in particular. Her resignation is indeed a thing to be regretted.
