No Scrimmage Yet for Freshmen

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Yesterday afternoon the Freshman football squad was first put through a half hour's dummy practice before being broken up into seven temporary teams for charging, passing, and other usual forms of practice. There has been no scrimmaging as yet but a few simple plays have been tried with line-ups.

The yearlings have a promising looking bunch of kickers. Larrabee and Gates are showing up well as ends, and the line is heavy with Grew, Donovan, Holder and Hobson as the most likely candidates. Kernan seems to be the outstanding center. In the backfield some of the best material is evident in Carneigie, Jerkins and McGhurkey. The squad is shaping up as a whole but it is not possible yet to pick many certain stars.
