COX-ROOSEVELT CLUB SWELLS "MATCH-THE-PRESIDENT" FUND

$500 Collected and Sent to Democrats--Republican Prize-Winner Contributes

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

R. C. Stuart jr. '21, chairman of the Executive Committee of the Cox-Roosevelt Club of Harvard, announced yesterday that the drive which the club has been conducting called the "Match the President Fund" has been successfully completed and that the check for $500 was mailed last night to Wilmer W. Marsh, treasurer of the Democratic National Committee.

One of the contributors to the fund was C. S. Joslyn '20, who won the $6000 prize for submitting the best model platform for the Republican Party. The letter accompanying the check reads as follows:

"Enclosed find my check which I send you as a contribution to the "Match the President Fund" which you are now raising.

"I am supporting Governor Cox for three reasons:

"1. I believe in World Peace.

"2. The League of Nations is the one constructive effort directed toward the realization of World Peace.

"3. Governor Cox is for the League; Senator Harding is against it.

"These reasons seem to me t0o be sufficient to justify the support of any voter possessed of a conscience and a working intelligence."

The club is still sending out speakers to the Democratic and Pro-League Rallies all over New England, especially New Hampshire, where the Democrats count on continuing their success of 1916--the first time in the history of New Hampshire the Granite State has gone Democratic.

All men interested in this work should see R. C. Stuart '21, in Thayer 6, as soon as possible.
