In spite of the heavy rainfall the Harding-Coolidge Torchlight Parade held last night in Boston proved to be one of the most successful political demonstrations in recent years. The Harvard Unit, of over 800 men, headed by the University band, started at 6.45 o'clock with Alexander McElwain '21 as marshal and marched to the corner of Marlborough and Arlington streets where it united with the Harding-Coolidge Clubs of Boston University, M. I. T., and Tufts.
The entire procession was reviewed by Lieutenant-Governor Channing Cox and his staff at Park Square.
Before dispersing a collection was taken up to help pay for the expenses of the parade. There still remains a deficit of $190, which the committee is endeavoring to collect. Any one willing to help meet this deficit may give or send their contributions to J. N. Hamlin '22, chairman, 1 Claverly Hall, or to G. C. Lee Jr. '21, 1 Plympton street, A. McElwain '21, 2 Holyoke street, W. E. Stearns '23, 15 Randolph Hall, and H. C. Lodge Jr. '24, Standish Hall, A 22.
