DOJ Sues Boston and Mayor Michelle Wu ’07 Over Sanctuary City Policy
Both the M. I. T. University and Freshman harriers were victorious over the University and 1924 cross-country men at Belmont yesterday afternoon. The University team was defeated in a one-sided race by the score of 17 to 40. The M. I. T. team received first, second, third, fifth and sixth places.
E. Schaefer '24 won first place for the Yearlings, but Tech men captured all of the next four places, winning by the score of 21 to 34.
McMahon and Sanborn of Tech took the lead early in the University race and held it to the finish. Captain McMahon led Sanborn across the line by about 200 yards, with a time of 34 minutes and 45 seconds. Captain Bemis and Flanders of Tech ran a close race, Flanders winning in the last 15 yards. Captain Bemis' time was 35 minutes 27 3-5 seconds. C. E. Reycroft '21, the second Harvard man, finished in seventh place.
E. Schaefer '24 ran a very pretty race and led Robertson, the M. I. T. captain, to the tape with just one-fifth of a second to spare. His time was 17 minutes 29 seconds.
