TWENTY-THREE TRACK MEN ADDED TO SQUAD

Twenty-three new men reported yesterday for fall track work under Coaches Bingham and Farrell, 13 University candidates and 10 1924 runners. The Freshmen, under Captain D. F. O'Connell '21, were given some light road work, and the others working with H. G. Crosby '22, also had some limbering up work. But even with these additional runners, more are needed according to the coaches yesterday. The cinder track will in all probability be available after next week and the field event men will be able to practice their events on Soldiers Field.

Cross-country work started in earnest when the men were taken over a four-mile course at Delmont. Twenty men ran, and although the time was slow, Dr. McCarty expressed himself as well pleased with the showing. All efforts are now concentrated on the first meet on invitation meet at Syracuse on October 16. Seven men will compose the Crimson team then and these will soon be picked from trial races.
