Polo as an organized sport will begin this fall at Yale for the first time. The sport is to be conducted under the auspices of the Yale R. O. T. C. No members of the college will be allowed to compete unless they have had previous experience at the game.
A number of excellent polo ponies are in the possession of the R. O. T. C. and it is expected that practice will start at an early date.
Yale plans to play a number of matches with local teams. There are two excellent fields: Pratt field, which is an outdoor field, and the Armory, which will provide a good indoor field. Negotiations are under way for a game with either the West Point Officers' or cadets' team. It is hoped that matches may be scheduled with Cornell, Princeton and Harvard.
