For the first time since 1914 the University Glee Club will make a spring trip, during which it will give concerts in Philadelphia, Baltimore and several Ohio cities.
Provided that the consent of the Faculty is obtained, the Glee Club will start on its tour during the third week in April, and will present its first concert at the Bellevue-Stratford Hotel in Philadelphia on the 19th. Following this concert there will be a ball, to which members of the Glee Club are invited. Their itinerary will then take them to Baltimore, where they will sing on the following evening: A concert in Cincinnati on April 22 and one in Dayton on the day after, followed by an elaborate ball at the Miami Hotel, come next on the schedule, while a concert in Cleveland on the 24th, or possibly in Columbus on that date, will complete the tour.
In all previous years the Glee Club trips have not been self-supporting, but this spring the management expects that the receipts at the various concerts will be sufficient to meet all expenses. Details regarding the number of men tak- ing the trip and a complete itinerary will be announced later.
The spring trips, however, constitutes only a part of the club's many activities this winter. On January 12 the Boston Art Club will be hosts to the University singers. On February 7 two joint concerts with the Wellesley and University Glee Club will take place, and there will be dancing following both the afternoon and evening performances. Tickets for this dual concert can be obtained only through the Wellesley Glee Club management, as none will be on sale in Cambridge.
Club to Produce "Dido and Aeneas."
The second Sanders Theatre concert is the next on the schedule. It will take place on March 26 at 8.15 o'clock. On the 16th and 17th of April Percival's opera, "Dido and Aeneas," will be presented by the club in conjunction with the Radcliffe Glee Club
