A sharp scrimmage between two Freshmen teams constituted the main part of practice for the yearlings yesterday. For the first part of the afternoon, however, Coach L. M. Lombard '17 gave his charges preliminary drill in the form of passing and offensive and defensive work. Over 40 men reported, some of whom showed great promise.
At 4 o'clock, when the second team vacated the second of the Charlesbank rinks, Lombard divided his squad into two parts and devoted the remainder of practice to a scrimmage between Teams A and B. J. G. Flint at goal played a consistently good blocking game, while G. Owen, in the defensive berth, also starred in his play. A. H. Ladd and D. F. Thayer exhibited brilliant flashes of offensive play in their passing and shooting.
