NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Trials for the Pasteur debate, which where held last night in Sever 11, resulted in the selection of the following six men to complete in the finals: E. D. Hutchinson '22. W. S. Holbrook, Jr., '21, L. A. '20, C. W. Phelps '22, J. J. Tutun and R. B. Varnum Unc. The question upon which the competitors spoke for five minutes each was phrased thus: Resolved, That France and Belgium should be reimbursed for all actual destruction of property during the war, by -Allied Loan, to be repaid eventually with the German Indemnity Loan." The Six men chosen from the 11 who entered the competition will speak for 12 minutes on the same question in the final trials on February 12 at a place to be announced later.

An unusual experiment in the form of a debate will be tried by the University debating team on February 23. It will be a double debate, one of the University teams going to Albany, where it will Syracuse, the other matching Bates Lewiston, Me. Both teams will debate on the same subject, the "Plumb Plan," But each will argue on a different side. Thus the two debates will be conducted as though two halves of a debate against the adversary, although the University will face two opponents.
