The refitting of the new a la carte dining hall in Memorial Hall Annex has been completed and the hall will be opened for use today. All present members of Foxcroft Hall--to replace which this new cafeteria was planned--will be automatically transferred to the new dining hall, and other members of the University may join by paying the membership fee of $3. The Annex will be able to accommodate a much larger number than Foxcroft, and the authorities are sure that all those who wish to take their meals there will be able to do so. Food is served a la carte at cost, thereby giving the lowest possible prices, while permitting of a great range of choice. Most of the food will be prepared in the Memorial Hall kitchens, although a small kitchen has been fitted up to cook special orders.
Several weeks have been spent in preparing the Annex for dining service and it is expected that many men over the 500 that formerly ate at Foxcroft will take their meals at the new dining hall.
