A new wooden floor is being laid in Hemingway Gymnasium, and until its completion it will be impossible to play basketball there. All upperclassmen who wish to play may used the new Freshman Athletic Building any afternoon until 4.30. Lockers will be supplied without charge to all who apply. Hemingway will be ready for use in about one week.
As a result of the injuries to many men through splinters, the construction of a new floor, which has been needed for many years, was recently commenced. When the floor is completed new markings will be put on, increasing the size of the baseball court and adding a diamond for indoor baseball.
All of the buildings under the supervision of the Department of Physical Education, including Hemingway Gym., the Freshman Athletic Building, the Big Tree Swimming Pool and Randolph Gym, will be open during the mid-year period. the name of the last-mentioned building has been changed from Randolph Gym, to the Harvard University Squash Courts.
