BERKSHIRE STRING QUARTET GIVES CONCERT THIS EVENING

The first of three concerts of chamber music, which the Department of Music is able to give through the generosity of Mrs. Frederick Shurtleff Coolidge, will be held in the John Knowles Paine Concert Hall of the Music Building this evening at 8.15. The concert will be given by the Berkshire String Quartet: Mr. Hugo Kortschak, first violin; Mr. Jacques Gordon, second violin; Mr. Emile Ferir, viola, and Mr. Emmeran Stoeber, 'cello.

The remaining concerts of the series will be given as follows: Thursday evening, February 19, by the Letz Quartet; Thursday evening, March 18, by the Elshuco Trio.

There will be no charge for admission to these concerts. Seats will be reserved for officers and students of the University and their families and for the officers and students at Radcliffe College and their families until 8; after that time the public will be admitted. The program of tonight's concert is as follows: Quartet in D major,  Franck Phantasy Quartet, op. 12,  Goossens Quartet No. 3, in A major,  Schumann
