Dr. Luvien Levy-Bruhl, exchange professor to the University from the University of Paris, arrived in the United States last week and will give two courses beginning the first half of the year. M. Levy-Bruhl is a well-known French contemporary, philosopher, and the author of "The Idea of Responsibility," "History of Modern Philosophy in France," and "Philosophy of Auguste Comte." He was born in 1857 and until assuming his position at the University of Paris was professor in lycees at Poltiers, Amiens, and Louis-legrand.
The courses to be given by Professor Levy-Bruhl are Philosophy B, the history of modern philosophy, and Philosophy 16, the history of French philosophy during the 19th century (lectures in French, conferences in English), each of which is a half-course.
