Red Top, Conn., June 13.--As a result of the strenuous work of the past week, Coach Haines decided today that the 1922 crew was going a bit stale, and gave them a complete lay-off
The University crews spent the morning practising starts with the gun, finishing up with a fast half-mile race, in which the first shell out-distanced the second boat by half a length.
F. B. Lothrop '19 returned to his regular seat at number four in the first crew today. The afternoon was taken up by three mile paddles down the river for the two University crews in succession. Coach Haines kept the stroke down to the rate of 23 to the minute down stream and 24 back.
