YESTERDAY'S SUBSCRIPTION PUT UNIVERSITY "OVER THE TOP"

SALE OF $35,100 WORTH OF BONDS MAKES VICTORY LIBERTY LOAN GRAND TOTAL $108,500--ADMIRAL SIMS SENDS MESSAGE FROM SICK-BED.

Yesterday's subscriptions, totaling $35,100, sent the University "over the top" with a grand total of $108,500 subscribed in the Loan Campaign. Every class but 1922, which still lacks $9,400, has now exceeded its quota. This amount must be raised in the two remaining days of the Loan, or that class will close the campaign with a deficit. Last year, the Freshmen subscribed nearly one-half of the amount raised.

Message From Sims.

Admiral Sims sent the following message to the University before he had learned today's total:

"It is up to us all to pay the bill for the biggest victory in the history of the world,--a victory cheap at the price. Harvard's record in this war has been a glorious one, and certainly Harvard is not going to fall down on the job. I have absolute trust in the people of New England to do their share to complete the war, to finish the job, to consummate the victory, and bring the boys home.

"Boston from its earliest history has always been in the lead of patriotic effort, and now I expect to see Harvard, Boston, Massachusetts, and all New England sail over the top full speed." 428 SUBSCRIBERS HAVE GIVEN $108,500 Class  Yesterday's Total  Total To Date  Quota  Amount Needed  Subscribers 1919  $3,800  $21,800  $12,450  --  60 1920  30,350  38,300  21,000  --  74 1921  200  28,550  27,300  --  132 1922  750  19,850  29,250  9,400  162 Total,  $35,100  $108,500  $90,000  --  428 At large,  5,250  29,650  --  --  81 Grand total,  $40,350  $138,150  --  --  509
