The University tennis team was victorious over Pennsylvania by a 5 to 4 score at the Merion Cricket Club, Philadelphia, Saturday afternoon. The closeness of the score was in part due to the fact that the University players were handicapped by the unaccustomed slippery grass courts. D. P. Robinson '20, of the Second team, took the place of C. H. Hyams '21 for this match. The summary is as follows:
A. M. Kerr defeated F. C. Hanighen '21, 6-3, 6-4; g. w. Helm defeated G. B. Pringst, 6-3, 7-5; J. S. Haynes defeated L. A. de Turenne '21, 6-4, 8-6; J. B. Fenno '21 defeated W. Nassau, 6-0, 14-12; F. W. Hatch '19 defeated H. Fisher, 6-4, 7-5; D. P. Robinson '20 defeated D. Nichols, 6-3, 6-3. In the doubles, F. C. Hanlghen '21 and G. w. Helm '21 defeated Pringst and Nichols, 5-7, 6-3, 6-2; Haynes and Nassau defeated L. A. de Turenne '21 and D. P. Robinson '20, 6-4, 3-6, 7-5; Kerr and Fisher defeated F. W. Hatch '19 and J. B. Fenno '21, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.

The Freshmen team was beaten on Divinity Field by nine matches to none. Williams (Y.), defeated Holmes (H.), 6-3, 6-0; Moss (Y.) defeated Hill (H.), 9-7, 6-2; McCord (Y.) defeated Wakefield (H.), 6-0 6-3; Benediet (Y.) defeated Praff (H.), 6-3, 7-5; wheeler (Y.), defeated Kleberg (H.), 7-5, 2-6, 6-4; McLaughlin (Y.) defeated Chase (H.), 1-6, 7-5, 6-2. Williams and McCord (Y.), Wakefield and Homes (H.), 6-0, 6-1; Moss and Benedict (Y.), defeated Hill and Kleberg (H.), 6-4, 6-3; Marshall and McLaughlin (Y.), defeated Pratt and Romine (H.), 6-1, 6-8, 6-3.
