STEVENS PROBABLY LOST TO TEAM FOR YALE MEET

MOORE STRONG IN DASHES

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

University track received a set back yesterday when A. Stevens '19, the best hammer thrower on the squad, injured his ankle and, as a result will probably be unable to complete against Yale at New Haven, Saturday. Inasmuch as several of the Yale runners are also out on account of poor physical condition, the meet will be close, with the University team a slight favorite.

The University squad is strong in the sprints, long distance runs, running broad jump and hurdles, while the Eli trackmen have an advantage in several field events as well as in the quarter and half mile runs.

Captain W. Moore '19 will probably win both sprints, leaving the two other places to be contended for by E. O. Gourdin '21, H. C. Flower '19, and Jones of the Eli team. Moore is a ten second man for this event while for the 220 yard dash J. M. B. Churchill '21 and F. W. Hall '20 are likely scorers.

In the one mile event D. F. O'Connell '21 is the logical winner with K. Chase '19 also placing in the event. J. D. Hutchinson '19 is favored to win the two mile race. C. G. Krogness '21 and F. C. Church '20 should both score in the hurdles although the Eli's have both Heffelfinger and Shedden who are likely to give the University hurdlers strong competition.

Yale will be well represented in the high jump by Landon, winner of that event at the Penn. games, and in the shot put and pole vault by Captain Braden and Sweeney, both of whom are first class men in their events.
