At the recent meeting of the Athletic Committee, it was voted to authorize a training table for the University track squad, similar to those of the crew and baseball men. The question of the training table for track men had been taken up at a previous meeting of the Committee, and, although tables were voted for the two other spring major sports at that time it was decided that a track training table was unnecessary.
The Committee also authorized a baseball game to be played at Soldiers Field on May 30, between the second teams of the University and Yale. As the Yale athletic authorities have not been approached on this subject, the game cannot be announced as definite. A contest with Dean on May 20 was added to the second team schedule, which makes the complete list of games as follows:
May 17.--Andover at Andover.
May 20.--Dean at Cambridge.
May 23.--Brown 2nd at Cambridge.
May 30.--Yale 2nd at Cambridge.
May 31.--Milton at Milton.
The Committee also ratified the appointment of W. Moore Occ., as permanent captain of the track team; G. S. Baldwin '21, as captain of the second University baseball team; G. H. Tilton '20, as captain of the swimming team; and J. A. MacDonell '21, as captain of the wrestling team.
At the request of the National Archery Association, permission was granted that organization to use Soldiers Field for their annual meet which will be held from August 26-29. It was also announced at the meeting that Walter H. Wheeler '18, captain-elect of the 1917 football team, would not return to College next fall. It had been hoped that he might be a member of the team next fall, or assist in the coaching here.
