Good Chance of Winning Intercollegiates ex-Capt. Rand Told Candidates

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Harvard has the best chance to win the Intercollegiates that she had since 1909", was the statement of William Rand, captain of the 1909 track team, at the meeting of all those interested in track held at the Union last night.

Rand pointed out that in 1909 and in 1901, the last times the University has won the Intercollegiates, there have been few preparatory stars on the team. "It is entirely possible to develop a well-balanced team in one year. All the colleges are starting out even, and we have in addition, plenty of good material."

A winning team would be possible, he stated, if the men would show a spirit of fight and determination, head-work, co-operation with the captain and coach, and most of all hard and faithful self-denial.
