Naval Reserve Officers May Enlist For Temporary Service

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

According to orders, published by the Navy Department yesterday, officers with the rank of ensign of the line in the naval reserve force, whether on active or inactive duty, may be appointed for temporary service in the regular navy. By transferring to the temporary navy reserve officers who desire such service, the department hopes to make up the shortage resulting from the enforced release from active duty of officers of the reserve force which must be completely demobilized after the declaration of peace. Applications from reserve officers will be received until April 19.
