TENNIS TEAM DOWNED TUFTS 6-0

OPPONENTS CLEARLY OUTCLASSED IN BOTH DOUBLES AND SINGLES.

In the second match of the season, the University tennis team defeated Tufts by a score of 6-0 yesterday afternoon on Divinity Field. At no time during the play were the Tufts players threatening, although Mullen in an exciting match with G. W. Helm '20 played a good volley game. The feature playing was that of the double sets in which F. C. Hanighen '21 and G. W. Helm '20 starred in crosscourt and volley play. L. de Turenne '21 was very effective at the net, playing a steady game for the University.

F. C. Hanighen '21 defeated C. Rockwell, 7-5, 6-1; G. W. Helm '20 defeated C. Mullen, 6-1, 2-6, 6-4; L. de Turenne '21 defeated C. Telfer 6-4, 6-2; C. W. Hyams '21 defeated H. K. Durant, 6-2, 6-2. Doubles: F. C. Hanighen '21 and G. W. Helm '20 defeated C. Rockwell and C. Telfer, 6-3, 6-0; L. de Turenne and C. W. Hyams defeated C. Mullen and R. Gohl, 6-2, 6-1.

The University second team will meet the Tech freshmen this afternoon on Divinity Field at 4 o'clock, while the 1922 team will play English High at the same place and time.
