Retrospective Loan Exhibition Will be Notable for Fine Paintings, and Sculpture.

The Fogg Art Museum will hold a Retrospective Loan Exhibition of French Art for two weeks beginning April 9, as a testimonial to the service of French officers at the University during the war. On the opening day, Wednesday, April 9, there will be a lecture by Captain Andre Morize in the Lecture Room of the Museum at 3.

The exhibition will represent the important periods in French Art from the 13th century to the present day and will include: illuminated manuscripts and panel paintings from the Morgan collection; several important examples of early Gothic sculpture: 18th century paintings and drawings by Watteau, Fragonard, Bouchet, Vigee, Le Brun, and Nattier; important examples of 18th century sculpture, including the Diana by Houdon and works by Clodion and Falconet. There will also be 19th century paintings by David, Deacroix, Corot, Courbet, Benoir, Monet, and Degas.
