A successful informal track carnival was held at Soldiers Field yesterday afternoon. The University and Freshman teams competed in three handicap field events; the shot-put, hammer-throw and high-jump. C. A. Clark, Jr., '19 won the shot-put from scratch, with a throw of 40 feet, 4 1-2 inches. G. A. Saxton '22 placed second and R. E. Jackson '19, third.
In the hammer-throw acting-captain A. Stevens '19 took first place, throwing a distance of 130 feet, 10 inches without handicap. The second and third men were J. F. Brown '22 and G. Flynn '19.
C. G. Krogness '21 easily won the high-jump, from scratch, with a jump of 5 feet, 7 inches. M. H. Dill '20 and R. Page '22, both with handicaps, finished second and third respectively.
