At a meeting of the University crews yesterday afternoon plans for the spring rowing were outlined. Men not retained for the University crews have been placed in class crews and Eliot and Thayer club crews. Each club crew will have a first and second crews. A regatta in which all these crews will race is set for May 10. The course for these contests will probably be one mile.
Will Choose All-Class Crew.
Between May 21 and 24 another regatta will be held in which a crew picked from the class crews will race the third University crew. At this same meet the winning crew from these two will race the second University eight. Reorganized Eliot and Thayer crews, consisting of men who rowed on class crews and did not make the crew picked to race the 3rd University will also race at this time.
The class crews, with the exception of No. 7 in the Senior boat, have been selected as follows:: 1919, Stroke, G. M. Parker; 6, C. Canfield; 5, F. T. Fisher; 4, E. C. Whittemore; 3, C. P. Fuller; 2, G. B. Woods; bow, G. G. Garceau. 1920, Stroke, R. C. Hardy; 7, A. Palmer; 6, C. E. Dickerson; 5, C. E. Dean; 4, G. C. Noyes; 3, R. B. Williamson; 2, A. B. Frenning; bow, B. C. Wheeler. 1921, A. Stroke. R. E. Lutz; 7, T. Denton; 6, G. Stuart; 5, R. L. Finley; 4, G. Foster; 3, P. C. Cabot; 2, W. C. Rugg; bow, H. Hall. B. Stroke, T. H. Mills; 7, A. Mills; 6, F. H. Freshmen Practiced Indoors.
Due to the inclement weather of yesterday afternoon the freshmen oarsmen did not go out on the river although three University shells went upstream.
All men rowing on 1922 crews below the third will soon be either organized into dormitory crews or divided into evenly matched shells.
The freshman first boat as it practised on the machines yesterday was composed of the following men: Stroke, M. Bradlee; 7, C. Garland; 6, L. McCagg; 5, A. Terry; 4, H. Brown; 3, J. Crocker; 2, S. A. Duncun; bow, G. M. Appleton.
