Second Marne Battle Subject of 1919 Garrison Prize Poem

The Second Battle of the Marne will be the subject of the poem for this year's Lloyd McKim Garrison Prize, according to the announcement made yesterday by Professor George P. Baker '87. This prize was founded by the Class of 1888 in memory of their classmate Lloyd McKim Garrison. It consists of $100 and a silver medal, for "the best poem on a subject or subjects annually to be chosen and announced by a Committee of the Department of English."

Each poem should not exceed fifty lines, should bear an assumed name, and should be accompanied by a sealed letter containing the true name of the writer and superscribed with the assumed name. The prize is open only to under graduates of the University. All manuscripts should be left at University 4, at the office of the Secretary of the Faculty, by 5 o'clock in the afternoon of May 1, 1919.
