NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Decorations have been conferred within the past few days upon three more men from the University, Major Ralph R. Fitch '03, M.D., First Lieutenant A. W. Gardner '18, and G. H. Dorr '21. Major Fitch was made a knight of the Legion of Honor for distinguished service in connection with the establishment of the Franco-American auxiliary hospital at St. Valery-en-Caux.

Posthumous Award to Lieut. Gardner.

The Distinguished Service Cross was awarded posthumously to Lieutenant Gardner for "extraordinary heroism in action in the Argonne Forest, October 3, 1918." While leading his company up a steep slope in the face of machine gun fire, he displayed the highest courage, and was killed before he saw his objective fulfilled.

Dorr was given the Medaglia Argento Al Valor Militare, the highest decoration for bravery conferred by the Italian Government to foreigners.
