The syllabus represents the epitome of "knowledge served on a silver platter." By its use, the average undergraduate can temporarily absorb and entire term's work in three hours and, entrenched in this manner, successfully thwart the parries of the most despotic "prof." With the examination past history hew can then seek new learning in another field, entirely unhampered by a brain loaded with other ideas.
