8 Takeaways From Harvard’s Task Force Reports
In an effort to place the Actors' Fund of America on a firm financial basis, the actors and actresses now playing in Boston will hold a benefit ball on Friday, December 5, at the Cambridge Armory, to which all members of the University are invited. The ball is part of a nationwide campaign to secure funds by other means than public subscription for the alleviation of distress among needy members of the profession.
In view of the services rendered by the entire profession during the war in Liberty Loan, Red Cross, and Y. M. C. A. drives, as well as in performances without pay for soldiers both here and in France, it is expected that the public will express its appreciation by enthusiastic support.
The University football team and the Radcliffe Glee Club have been especially invited to attend the ball and will be present on masse.
Noted Thespians to Assist.
Among the actors and actresses who will attend are the following: Alice Brady, June Caprice, Jane Cowl, William Gillette, Madge Bellamy and the entire Dear Brutus Company, William S. Hart, The Angel Face Company, Henry Davenport, Howard Gould and Claude Dillingwater of "Three Wise Fools." Many other actors and actresses of equal prominence are expected, and an opportunity will be offered to meet them personally in an informal way. Tickets at $1 each are now on sale at Leavitt and Peirce's and the Co-operative Branch.
