"OPEN HOUSE" TO BE HELD CHRISTMAS AT BROOKS HOUSE

On Christmas night the annual "Open House" entertainment, intended for all University members who remain in Cambridge during the Christmas recess, will be given by the Association in Phillips Brooks House from 6 to 10 o'clock.

An old-fashioned Christmas entertainment before the open fire in the Parlor will be provided, and apples, candy, doughnuts and eider will be served.

The program will commence by a reading by Dean Briggs on the birth of Christ from the scriptures and several other selections which are appropriate for the Christmas season. Following Dean Briggs' reading there will be singing of Christmas carols. J. E. Bagley Sp. assisted by C. S. Howard '20, violinist will lead the singing.

Oklahoma Prof. Tells Western Stories.

The third part of the program will be stories on western life by E. E. Dale 3G., professor of History at the University of Oklahoma. Mr. Dale who makes a specialty of western folk lore and has had numerous experiences among the Westerners, will give a sketch of cow-boy and Indian life on the frontier drawn from what he himself has witnessed and experienced, and will read some of his famous Oklahoma jingles.

Mr. B. H. Lehman of the English Department will give selected readings and Mrs. Blanche McKinley, colorature soprano, will sing the well-known aria from "Madam Butterfly." There will also be several piano selections by Mrs. R. D. Campbell.

The committee in charge, headed by A. O. Fink '20, chairman, cordially invites all members of the University who are going to be in Cambridge on Christmas Day to attend this entertainment. It will not conflict with President Lowell's reception, which comes on Christmas Eve.
